Esperanza Center is a nonprofit organization serving people with developmental disabilities and their families in Manhattan and the Bronx. We provide residential, day, community, recreation, and reimbursement programs rooted in dignity, joy, and love.
We support children, teens, and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as their families and caregivers.
We were founded in 1952, and since 1973 we have provided programs for people with developmental disabilities. That means over 50 years of impact.
Our programs and homes are located throughout Manhattan and the Bronx. Our main office is in Washington Heights.
Eligibility typically requires a diagnosis of an intellectual or developmental disability before the age of 21, and OPWDD approval. Each program may have specific requirements.
