What Advocacy Means to Us
- Voice. Ensuring every person is heard in decisions that shape their life.
- Rights. Protecting and advancing civil and human rights for people with developmental disabilities.
- Equity. Working to dismantle barriers and create fair access to services, opportunities, and community life.
- Partnership. Collaborating with families, providers, and policymakers to shape systems of support.
- Action. Turning concerns into concrete change at local, state, and national levels.

Our Legacy of Advocacy
From our founding in the 1970s, Esperanza has challenged the isolation and inequities faced by people with developmental disabilities. Our efforts helped launch programs in day services, residential life, and recreation. Today, we continue this legacy by speaking out for inclusion and opportunity in every sphere of life.
